The the 7th division of light infantry of the Armed with the United States (in English: 7th Infantry Division (Light) ) was one of divisions of the US Army, the American Army. It is decontaminated the August 22nd 2006.

Just like the 24 {{E}} division of mechanized infantry ( 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized) ), it acted of a “mixed” division structured on the principle " Component of active/component of réserve" ( Activates Component/Reserve Component ( AC/RC )), i.e. it has an active core, around its staff, composed of professional elements, which order units of the National guard of the United States.

This mixing between active and reserve are coherent with the reduction of manpower wanted since the beginning of the years 1990. It made it possible of more than make profit with brigades of the national guard from the capacities from organization and command from a permanent divisional staff from the active one.
