The city-mosque of Bagerhat , located in the district of Bagerhat at the south-west of the Bangladesh, is an old city comprising a great concentration of Mosquée S and other monuments ic Islam. Founded at the 15th century by Khan Jahan Ali, the place was then known under the name of Khalifatabad .

The site is on the Liste of the world heritage of UNESCO since 1985.

The city shelters, inter alia, the Mosquée Shatgumbad (or Mosque of the sixty pillars ), one of oldest of Bangladesh. It actually has more than sixty pillars and has 81 gambuj (Dôme S), including 77 formant the roof and four small domes laid out with each corner. The structure is mainly made of Terra cotta and Brique S.

The other principal mosques are the mosque of the Last nine domes, the Chillakhan mosque and Sona, the mosque Anarkha, the mosque Dariakha, the Katani mosque.

The site also includes three lakes (Pasha, Ekhtiarkha, and Buraka), and fall it from Khan Jahan Ali.
