Old and arm of the North Sea of Belgium Netherlands, it separated the Belgian territory Littoral from the continent. The current coast is the shore Western of this island. It is about a single Biotope for many Oiseau X and Plante S.
The Belgo-Dutch border crosses natural reserve, it is marked out by two boundary stones.
One finds many indigenous species. These plants are subject to the permanent influence of salted sea water. For this reason they are untraceable in other parts of the littoral.
These plants are the Salicorne, Obione portulacoides false pourpier and other plants which are typical salt meadow lambs.
