Zuytpeene

Zuytpeene ( Zuidpene in Dutch) is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

The name is of Flemish origin. Zuyt , in modern Dutch zuid , means “southern” and the peene is a small river which passes the village. In the north of Zuytpeene the village of Noordpeene is ( noord means “northern”). It is about the last commune of France in the alphabetical order.

Its inhabitants is called Zuytpeenois.
