Zuydcoote ( Zuidkote in Dutch) is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Its inhabitants is called the Zuydcootois (be) .

The Romance Week-end in Zuydcoote , written by Robert Merle describes the peregrinations of a soldier in the pocket of Dunkirk and obtained the Prix Goncourt in 1949. This book was the subject of a film adaptation in 1964 by Henri Verneuil with as actor Jean-Paul Belmondo.
