Adelmo Fornaciari , known as Zucchero (born the September 25th 1955 with Roncocesi, in the Province of Reggio of Emilie, in Emilie-Romagna, Italy -) is a singer of Italian Rock. It gained the nickname of Zucchero ( sugar ) as of its more tender childhood, because its schoolmistress called it by this tender nickname (indeed, sugar says somebody of adorable, soft). He has a fore-mentioned brother Lauro.
Musical career
He begins his musical career in
1970, records its first disc in
1976. Its first album solo goes back to
1983. He emigrates in
California.
He sings in English and Italian. Its music is largely inspired by the
Gospel, and alternates sirupeuses ballades and pieces much more rates/rhythms, close to the Boogie. Its inspiration is very blues and rythm & drunk person. Many stars signed songs with him (
Elvis Costello,
Ennio Morricone, or took part musicalement
Miles Davis,
Eric Clapton, David Sancious the keyboard of
Peter Gabriel. and others signed duets:
Paul Young,
Sting, Pavarotti,
John Lee Hooker, Jovanotti,
Johnny Hallyday, and even astonishing it
Gerard Depardieu.
It takes part every year, to concert given by Luciano Pavarotti (Pavarotti & Friends) it is one of the instigators, and the career of some Italian artists launched Giorgia, Andrea Bocelli. Very recently, it launched the career of his daughter Irene Fornaciari who had already written a song " to him; KArma stai kalma" with his/her sister on a preceding album " Bluesugar". it gains the Festivalbar in 2004.
One of the characteristics of Zucchero is to write its albums in various languages. Thus it is possible to find an album in English, Italian and Spanish.
