Born on November 11th, 1974, with Boulogne-Billancourt, Zoxea , (of its true name Jean-Jacques Kodjo ) is a French rappor of Beninese origin .
Biography
Without never to have failed in its role within the Wise Poets of the Street, after many appearances with dimensions of all the figures impossible to circumvent of the French hip-hop for ten years, in May 1995 associated the Kodjo brothers and Lakoué have created a new group: the Happy De Boul.In December 1998, leaves the maximum the rush towards RoRo . The album of Zoxea, carried out by Kool Shen, where one finds Zox as a song writer and performer supported by Madizm de Badolo and his/her Melopheelo brother leaves in February 1999.
One first of all within the Wise Poets of the Street, it still formed part of Happy of Boul, when they leave their first maximum What discovered it makes go the wise ones? in 1995. Then it is on the album of Busta Flex on February 3rd, 1998 that one can hear for the first Zoxea time in solo first of all on " 1 For the basse" but also on " Freestyle Session" with NTM.
It then forms part of the independent label of Kool Shen of NTM, IV My People. One thus finds it on the first maximum one this again poses with dimensions of Lord Kossity, Busta Flex and NTM of course. In first part of the concerts of Busta Flex, it takes part in the mixtape of Shen, and leaves finally maximum two titles with " Rush towards the roro" with Busta, and " Rap, music that I aime" in which he speaks about his relation with the rap, as if it were a woman. Then this song is remixé by DJ Cream and will make party of the mixtape Nique the Music of France . It is then rewarded at the time of the festival of Bobigny in 1999.
February 2nd, 1999, it is the exit of its album entirely carried out by Kool Shen, In my turn to shine . This disc made up of 14 titles (more a hidden Chanson at the end), is produced by Madizm and its Melopheelo brother. It is for him the dedication. Among these songs, one finds the two titles of the maximum precedent, but also " Vengeance" in featuring with the Happy one of Boul, Gift Choa of the Fonky Family and much of other artists, " Y' has that Ca with faire" with Lord Kossity, melody the " Anthem of Mozoezet" , frenzy it poetic with Melopheelo on " One evening of Guedin" , or a freestyle into live has cappella. Even if Zoxea has a flow and a preference for freestyle, it poses its voice on pieces with more serious topics like " Contrôle" with Shen or " Pression".
It produces the following year, the second shutter of the compilation Beat De Boul where one finds Nysay on the piece It is the War .
In 2003, Dontcha invites it to face it on Skyrock, in the emission Couvre Fire animated by Jacky of Neg' Marrons, in a clash improvisation on line. Zoxea accpete for the competition spirit which this clash brings.
In 2004, it leaves its second album, In the light . One can find in particular there Sinik which thanks to the reputation of Zoxea, will sign at Warner and will leave its first album solo there.
Follows itself from there, a conflict which opposes it to Dontcha, which would be " car-proclamé" winner of the clash, which displeased in Zoxea which had accepted this confrontation as a candidate and not as future winner or a loser. But also with Sinik, which in spite of the contribution of Zoxea in its career, leaves it in way and LIM which reproaches him its piece King Of Boulogne .
Zoxea produced in company of his/her brother the third compilation Happy De Boul, where Zoxea realizes several pieces solos of which " 60 piges" where it clamp high and strong its love of the music, for those which still doubted it.
It is currently in preparation of its third album solo which will name All in the head and which will leave on its structure KDB Zic. This sound came naturally after Zoxea decided to record this album without writing only one text comem could do it Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G and well of others.
