Zouave of the Bridge of Alma
The zouave of the Bridge of Alma is one of the four Sculpture S representing some of the troops having taken part in the Crimean War, initially fixed on the piles of old the Pont of Alma at Paris. The Hunter with foot, the artillerist and the pomegranate were moved on other sites, only the zouave (Soldat French of the army of Africa) was maintained on new the Pont.
Traditionally, one measures the Crue S of the the Seine by checking the height reached when “the zouave has the feet in water”. At the time of the believed of 1910, water reached the shoulders of the zouave.
