Zooplancton
The zooplancton (of the Greek Animal zoo or “”) is a Plancton Animal. It nourishes living matter, certain species being Herbivore S and others carnivorous.
It goes up the night towards surface to nourish Phytoplancton and goes down again during the day towards deeper water. He thus escapes predatory and saves energy because the temperature is less high. This movement of the zooplancton is called daily vertical migration .
Classification
Almost all the junctions have planktonique species in a permanent way (Holoplancton) or species having one only one planktonique stage (Méroplancton). Some examples:
- Spongiaires : ???
- Cnidaires : Jellyfish S
- Crustacean: Krill, Copépode, Zoe of Crabs, Zoe of Shrimp
- Molluscs: larva
- Echinodermatous: larva pluteus
- Worm S: ???
- Cténaire S: All the junction
- Tunicier S: Salpe S
- Vertebrate: Gamète S then Larva S of Poisson S
Identification
The zooplancton is easily différenciable Phytoplancton by more complex forms: presence of legs, antennas.
