Zoophilie

The zoophilie , of the old Greek ζωον ( zôon , " animal") and φιλία ( philia , " amitié" or " amour"), sexual Attirance of an human being for one or more is the animal. It is possibly emotional, étymologiquement speaking.

Generally regarded as a Déviance or a sexual Perversion, it becomes truly a Paraphilie if it fills its criteria; although it is not listed any more since 1980 in the Manuel diagnosis and statistics of the mental disorders ( DSM ), the American and world reference psychiatric as regards mental pathologies.

Appeared at the 19th century, the word zoophilie comes from Greek roots. It was formerly known under the name of “bestiality”. Today this term is often used to indicate the passage to the effective sex act which can rise from an attraction zoophile. One also speaks about “acts zoophiles”.

In France, since 2004, the zoophilie is repressed . The Court of appeal confirmed, on September 4th, 2007, a stop of the Criminal Court of the Court of Appeal of Dijon of January 27th, 2006, condemning an individual to one year of suspended sentence as well as total ban to hold an animal. Historical references

Most famous Théodora seems to be the Byzantine empress (towards 500 - 548) which devoted to bestial scenes in some Bacchanales. However, the veracity of these allegations seems very prone to guarantee.

“The Thousand and One Nights ” give a report on two manifest scenes of zoophilie.

The Latin novel the Ass of gold of Apulée also evokes a scene where a woman couples herself with an ass.

In France, in 1601, judging in call, the Parliament of Paris had condemned to dead Claudine de Culam, born with Rozay-in-Brie, 16 years old, domesticates at Mister the Prior of Reverecourt for four years, “well and duly reached and convinced to have had carnal dwelling with a white dog mottled of russet-red”. Terminology

The general term Zoophilie was introduced, for the first time, in the subject of research on sexuality by Richard Freiherr von Kraft-Ebing, in its book Psychopathia Sexualis , in 1886. In Sexology, Psychology, and in current language, this term has a broad significance, such as, affinity, the affection, or sexual attraction for a not-human partner. This term refers to sexual attraction towards the animals, and, less usually, with the paraphilie of the same name.

The term Zoosexualité indicates the whole of the spectrum of the emotions, sexual attractions, or the sexual orientations towards the animals. The term zosexuel (used for: nobody zoosexuelle , and act zoosexuel ), is used since the Eighties (but hardly used in French).

The individuals having a strong affinity towards the animals, but without sexual attraction, can be described as zoophiles " non-sexuels" (or " émotionels"), but can reject the term zoophile . These people are more usually named: In love with the animals .

The ambiguous term sodomy was used formerly to indicate the sex acts not procréatifs.

The term Bestialité indicates the sex acts between human and animal. This term does not imply by itself the motivation or the attitude.

For the zoophiles, and certain researchers, the term bestialist has receipt a negative connotation, implying a disinterest the needs and the emotions of the animal. This connotation finds its origin in the desire of some zoophiles to establish a clear distinction between the zoophilie , an sexual orientation with whole share, and the simple sex act with an animal. Others are distinguished zoophile or bestialist according to the definition from the dictionary.

The term Zoosadisme refers to the torture and the pain inflicted with an animal with an aim of obtaining a sexual pleasure. This term includes also the sexual abuses practiced on the animals.

Today

The various studies carried out by various specialists in sexual manners (in particular the report/ratio Kinsey the USA 1950 for the women) indicates that a population from approximately 4% to 7% had at least once a sexual relation with an animal in the United States.

In 1969, Linda Lovelace, celebrates pornographic actress, had taken part in first commercial film zoophile sold on the various continents.

In 1973, Nancy Friday in My Secret Garden posted high and extremely certain female phantasms zoophiles and stressed that the passage to the act is more current than one could suspect it.

Distinction between Zoophilie and Bestialité

The majority of people do not make any differences between the words zoophilie and bestiality

• the Bestialité is in the dictionary “sexual perversion, relations with animals”. Namely that it is about anybody whose only interest is sexual.

• the zoophilie is “excessive Attachment for the animals”. Here, the individual carries such a passion, admiration, for the animals that it feels a sexual attraction of it (but without forcing to pass to the act).
• the zoophile is described as follows: “nobody who expresses or belongs to the interest, of the love for the animals”.

The zoophiles make a very clear distinction between the zoophiles and the bestialists , the first being those which love the animals, the seconds being those which have sexual relationships with animals without feeling least emotional attraction towards the animals.

Some zoophiles have sexual relationships only with animals and do not show any interest for the human ones, much are even vegetarians.

The community zoophile

There does not exist " community zoophile" strictly speaking. The zoophiles prefer to gather in very plain small groups.

In spite of this tendency, there exists a form d'" éthique" zoophiles: the ZETA

ZETA : Zoophiles for the Ethical Treatment off Animals (French : Zoophiles for the Ethical Treatment of the Animals)

There exists a symbol ZETA “ζ” (Z Greek in a circle).

• the main mission of ZETA:

• To teach a final distinction between zoophilie and bestiality and to defy the acts of bestiality by the promotion of a moral respect in the treatment of the animals.

• Principles of ZETA:

• Accordez to the animals the same respect that one wishes to see oneself granting to oneself.
• Considérez that an animal companion is as important as any other.
• To accept the desires and wills of the animal for a mutual satisfaction.
• To inform those which seek to know the zoophilie without promoting it.
• Discourage the practice of the zoophilie in the presence of researchers of fetish.
• To censure the sexual exploitation of animals with an aim of financial profit.
• To censure those which practice and promote the sexual abuse on animals.

Legislations

In Prussia

Frederic II, which loved neither the animals nor the women, would have abolished this crime according to Voltaire:

In France

The Penal code of 1791, promulgated by the Constituent one, abolished the crimes of sodomy and bestiality, grace, in particular, with the positions of the traditional penalists (Beccaria, Bentham…) and in a way completely in conformity with the Declaration of 1789 that the same Parliament had proclaimed: freedom consists in being able to do all that does not harm others (Article 4). The laicization of the right and the liberal thought of the revolutionists naturally led to dépénaliser the homosexual behaviors and zoophiles. Napoleon, in his Penal code of 1810, confirmed this de-penalization. During XIXe and XXe century, the penal jurisdictions could condemn acts zoophiles violent one, on the base of the acts cruel or the ill treatments towards the pets or tamed (only protected).

Until March 2004, no law punished bestiality except if the animal underwent maltreatment graves.

The law n° 2004-204 of the bearing March 9th, 2004 adaptation of justice to the evolutions criminality, adds the precision “or of sexual nature” to article 521-1 of the penal code.

Article 521-1:

The fact, publicly or not, to exert Maltreatment S low registers or of sexual nature or to make an act of cruelty towards an pet, or tamed, or held in captivity, is punished two years of imprisonment and 30  000 euros of fine. As complementary sorrow, the court can prohibit the detention of an animal, on a purely final basis or not.

The provisions of this article are not applicable to the bullfights when an uninterrupted local tradition can be called upon. They are not either applicable to the cockfights in the localities where an uninterrupted tradition can be established.

Is punished sorrows envisaged with the first subparagraph any creation of new a gallodrome. Is also punished same sorrows the abandonment of an pet, is tamed or held in captivity, except for the animals intended for repopulation. ”

Here as the crime of bestiality was restored in France, without debate:

In Swiss

Articles 135 and 197 of the penal code prohibit the diffusion and the possession (since 2001) of pornography or scenes of violence implying of the animals.

With the the United Kingdom

The law on the sexual crimes of 2003 interdict the penetration of the vagina or the anus of an live animal by the penis of a person, this law also prohibits the introduction of the penis of an live animal into the vagina or the anus of a person. The contraveners can be condemned to custodial sentences not exceeding 2 years. With the Canada

Article 160 (1) of the Criminal Code, left V, prohibited the zoophilie in these terms: “Is guilty either of an criminal act and liable to ten years a maximum imprisonment, or of a punishable infringement on declaration of culpability by summary procedure, whoever makes an act of bestiality. ”

Article 160 (2) lays down the same sorrow for any person who in force another to make an act of bestiality.

Article 160 (3) lays down the same sorrow for a person who makes this act in front of an older child of less than fourteen years.

Myth and religion

The most famous case of zoophilie in the Greek Mythologie is that of the coupling of Pasiphaé, the woman of Minos, with a white bull, giving rise to the Minotaure.

In certain religions, like the majority of the monotheisms, the sexual relationships with the animals are prohibited even punished Mort. Thus one finds in the Bible, (Lévitique):

• §18, L23: “You will not sleep with an animal, to soil you with it. The woman will not approach an animal, for prostituer with it. It is a confusion. ”
• §20, L15: “If a man sleeps with an animal, it will be punished of died and you will kill the animal. ”
• §21, L16: “If a woman approaches an animal, for prostituer with it, you will kill the woman and the animal; they will be put at died: their blood will fall down on them. ”

With the cinema

• Its majesty Minor (film, 2007) of Jean Jacques Annaud.

• the film " the ballade of Narayama " (1983) a rather explicit scene of zoophilie between a man and a bitch contains.

• All that you always wanted to know about the sex… without never daring to ask it , Woody Allen, 1972. Gene Wilder plays there the part of a psychoanalyst in love with a ewe.

• Juste once (2006) in which heroin has an unavowable secrecy: In its youth it had a buccogénital report/ratio with a dog.

• '' Zoo '' (2007) of Robinson Devor, is documentary which reports the tragic history of an American zoophile, known under the pseudonym " Mr. Hand" , deceased in July 2005, following a perforation of the colonist by an Arab standard. This documentary was diffused with the Cannes festival 2007 in May.

• In an episode of season 4 of the series Nip/Tuck, a patient (Noble Shari) being made tear off the nipples has sexual relationships with its dog, a boxer which her husband cuts down at the end of the episode to put an end to this " relation".
