Zoomorphism

The zoomorphism is the tendency to allot to something animal characteristics (that it is in term of behavior, morphology, motivations, of representation).

To explain the human behavior by the means of a comparison to the animal behavior is zoomorphic.

The zoomorphism is current in term of religion and mythology (Horus, Thot and the majority of the Egyptian Pantheon is zoomorphes).

The concept was also used in caricature and propaganda, generally for portraiturer its enemies political (a disastrous example is propaganda Nazi who represented the Jews such of the rats).

The Lycanthropie can also be regarded as a form of zoomorphisme.
The zoomorphism is a form of Anthropomorphisme, because to introduce a cruel man like a wolf, it is to allot a human attitude to an animal, which with more follows its instinct.

A strong use of the zoomorphism is present in Cartoon. It is the case in the works intended for the children like those implying the characters of Walt Disney (Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck), but also in cartoons directed towards a more adult public like Maus or the biographical notebooks of Lewis Trondheim.
