Zips

Zips (in Latin: Scepusium , in German: Zips , in Hungarian Szepesség or Szepes , in Slovak: Spiš , in Polish: Spisz ) is an area of Central Europe, in the south of the High Tatras.

It is located nowadays in major part in Slovakia with a small portion in Poland.

This area formed a Comitat Royaume of Hungary between the 11th century and 1918. The Slovak part is currently a tourist area of Slovakia bearing the name of Spiš .
