In the Maya Religion, Zipacna is the son of Vucub Caquix and Chimalmat. He and his/her brother, Cabrakan (earthquake), is often regarded as demons. Zipacna and its brother are described like violent ones and arrogant. The symbol of Zipacna is a large caiman. He often praises himself to be the creator of the mountains. In the Popol Vuh, he faces the cosmic twins Hunahpu and Ixbalanque.
