Zeuhl

Zeuhl indicates a musical genre which mixes the progressive Rock, the Jazz-rock'n'roll fusion, the neoclacissism, and of the vocal elements of the Negro-spiritual. Among other characteristics appear the feeling of oppression and discipline which the pieces release, of the topics which point out steps, the development of low palpitating associated with the piano or the electric piano (Fender Rhodos), with the organ and Cuivres.

The term Zeuhl is used in reference to the group Magma, which is at the origin of this kind of music. In the imaginary language created by its founder Christian Vander, the Kobaïen, Zeuhl indicates “a kind of material in vibration which would have memorized all the sounds”.

Several groups of music, strongly influenced by Magma, are assimilated or claim Zeuhl movement.
