Zeta

Zeta or dzêta (capital tiny Ζ , ζ ), in Greek ζῆτα , of the Greek alphabet is the sixth letter. In Greek numeration, zeta is worth 7.

Pronunciation

The pronunciation is API|zɛta}} or API|dzɛta}}. The API pronunciation|dzɛta}} being influenced by the traditional pronunciation of the old Greek in the French schools, it makes more erudite, but it is neither better nor worse from a historical point of view than the API pronunciation|zɛta}} (both are also debatable). The word spells Zêta conventionally whatever the pronunciation employed.
