The construction of the Zenith of Strasbourg began in January 2006, and its end is planned for January 2008.
Established with Eckbolsheim, along A351, near the Sporting Park of Hautepierre and of the Shopping mall Auchan, the Zenith was conceived by famous the Massimiliano Fuksas (the Peace Center of Jaffa, the Palate of the Congresses of Rome, the Twin towers of Vienna, the center of the Space agency Italian in Rome, the Seat of Ferrari to Maranello…)
With a surface of 110 out of 140 meters, it will be equipped with an architecture all in lightness with an Orange Fabric and its eccentric ellipses. It will be able to accommodate until: 10000 spectators.
The global budget of construction amounts to 48,62 M€ dealt with 68% by the Urban community of Strasbourg and supported by the General advice of the Low-Rhine, the Région Alsace and the State. 30 M€ will in addition be allocated with the adjustment of the accesses and the access. The entire amount of the operation will thus require an investment of 78,62 M€.
Before her construction, the theater of Strasbourg having the greatest capacity was the Hall Rhénus (: 1500 with: 8000 spectators).
The Zenith of Strasbourg will be the 15th Zenith to open in January 2008, after that of Limoges in March 2007 - St-Etienne is also still in construction -, Amiens and St-Denis of the Meeting started when with them their feasibility studies.
The opening of the Zenith of Strasbourg is programmed for the beginning of the year 2008 with inaugurating it the W9 VIP Live organized by the chain of TV W9 and M6 Évènements on January 9th, 2008 with 21:00. With the program several artists of which Amel Bent, Geostrophic, Christophe Maé, Lorie and other artists whose name is not yet known. the Dumbs are also envisaged from January 23rd to 28th 2008.
