Zenith of Nantes Metropolis

The Zenith Nantes Métropole is a theater, located in the ZAC Ar Mor ( the Sea , in Breton language ) very close to the retail park Atlantis at Saint-Herblain, close to Nantes. Its total capacity of reception is of 8500 places (including 1800 sitted places).

History

In 2002, the elected officials of the urban community Nantes Métropole decide realization of cultural equipment of great capacity, of type Zenith. Of Community interest, it has the role to supplement the existing offer in term of theaters on the Nantes agglomeration, in order to accommodate great national and international rounds in particular.

Following a contest putting in competition several projects of cabinets of architects, was adopted the proposal of the Atelier of architecture associated Chaix & Morel and (which had in addition already carried out the Zenith of Paris, and those of Montpellier, Orleans and of Dijon).

The room was inaugurated on December 2nd, 2006. The first concert which was held there apart from the evening of inauguration is that of Placebo.

Installations - Use

The Zenith Nantes Metropolis with the advantage of having at the end in concert two shuttles allowing to join different the line from tram.
