Zelmo Beaty
Zelmo " Big Z" Beaty (born the October 25th 1939, with Hillister, Texas) is a former professional American player of Basket-ball.
Pivot of 2m06 resulting from the university Meadow View A&M, Beaty was selected with the 3rd rank of the draft 1962 by the St Louis Hawks. He played seven seasons with Hawks, with two appearances with NBA All-Star Range in 1966 and 1968, before leaving the NBA to play for the rival league of the American Basketball Association (ABA). Beaty led the Utah Stars to title ABA 1971, then played three additional seasons with the Stars before turning over in NBA like member of the Los Angeles Lakers. It took its retirement in 1975 combining in ABA/NBA a total of 15207 points and 9665 rebounds. He was briefly trainer of team ABA of the Virginia Squires.
