Zeitgeist (album of The Smashing Pumpkins)

Zeitgeist is the sixth official album of the Smashing Pumpkins (if one does not count the album MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies off Modern Music, freely distributed on Internet). Its coming out date, initially planned for the July 7th 2007 (the 7/7/07), is finally deferred to July 10th; that will have made more than 6 years that the group did not publish an album, because of their separation until 2006.

The name of this album is a German word meaning " The Spirit of Temps".

The small pocket of the album represents the Statue of freedom running in a calm sea in front of a sunset. The red color very strongly dominates this small pocket. Realized by Shepard Fairey, it evokes the Climate warming as well as the decline of the United States and their ideals.

The first individual one is Tarantula and the title Doomsday Clock is reproduced on the BO of the Transformers film of Michael Bay.

It exists several editions of this album according to the country, the small pocket changes color and one can find on some of the titles in more named " Stellar" , " Death From Above" , " Zeitgeist" , " My Belle" who come to be grafted in the playlist and not in end.
