Zbigniew Herbert
Zbigniew Herbert is a Poète and Dramaturge Polish born in 1924 and died in 1998.
During the war, he studied in a secret university with Lwów, at the same time as he carried out his military service in the clandestine national army (Armia Krajowa). After the war, it finished studies of economy.
It began in 1956 and becomes one of the most important poets in Europe. Its works draw with the ancient sources from where they draw a clearness and a clearness from the feature seldom met to the XX E century. Herbert becomes also a brilliant essay writer, author of a southernmost, Mediterranean and modern trilogy: a Barbarian in the garden, Still life with support and bit and the labyrinth near the sea.
Dies whereas its name had been advanced several times for the Nobel Prize.
