Zatoichi

Zatoïchi (座頭市, zatôichi ) is a series of Film S Japan board, then a Televised series of the Années 1970 and 1980. In 2003, Takeshi Kitano carried out a new film, with however a different main actor.

Weave history

With the Japan, during the Period Edo, Zatoïchi is an itinerant blind masseur. He is however extremely gifted with the saber, particularly in Iaïdo.
Having attended the Yakuza S, it is found regularly involved in quarrels. It however tries to protect the innocent ones from these fights between clans.

The original series

The first series of 26 films put in scene Shintarô Katsu. The first film goes back to 1962, in black and white. The third film should be awaited, in 1963, to see appearing the color. The twenty-fifth film goes back to 1973, then there are a 16 years pause before the 26e and the last, in 1989, carried out by Shintarô Katsu itself.

The film of Takeshi Kitano

In 2003, Takeshi Kitano carries out a new film on the topic of Zatoïchi, taking the main role in the place of Shintarô Katsu, deceased several years before.

The Gekiga of Hiroshi Hirata

The mangaka Hiroshi Hirata published a gekiga, in the Fifties, telling two adventures of Zatoichi.
