Zapping Zone is a television program, created by Patrice White-Francart, diffused in France with launching of Disney Channel (1997) and during 8 years. It is a program which was on line during several hours and which proposed to the televiewers between two series diffused by the chain: to interact or to inform thanks to various magazines all this on a Tv plate déstructuré where the slides are not hidden. This emission is an internal production of Disney Channel.

History

• the emission is born on March 24th, 1997 according to an idea from Patrice White-Francart. Turning was carried out in the studio of Europe 1.

• In October 2000, nomination of Sabine Graissaguel by Julien Borde (the director of the programs of Disney Channel).

• In 2002 the tele plate settles within Disney Télévision Studios, a plate of television of 1000  m ² whose emission occupies a third. These studios of television are inside the Parc Walt Disney Studios. They are included in a single complex of television in Europe with the buildings of Disney Channel, Jetix, the final control of the chain, the rooms of doublings, assemblies, creations elements 3D… The emission thus becomes single in Europe since the visitors of the amusement park can also attend the turning of the emission and thus discover the slides of a production.

• on November 2nd, 2002 with 18:00 in company of the Priscilla singer on line of Zapping Zone 3 new Disney chains are launched: Toon Disney, Disney Channel + 1 and Playhouse Disney.

• For the season of 2004 (date to be confirmed), the plate is not visible any more with the visitors of the park, it occupies another plate of Disney Télévision Studios, hidden with the public.

• After an eighth season in France, the emission stops in June 2005 to leave room to the re-entry 2006 to four magazines: Extrasons (presented by Willy), Wazakid (presented by Joan), Tousskissor (presented by Fabienne) and Art Attack (presented by Cyril Féraud).

• In September 2005, a petition for the return of Zapping zone is created, several months after its launching, Disney Télévision France (the company which manages the chains Disney France) answers on its official site. The answer indicates the decision “to innovate while launching 3 new magazines” and thus explains to the fans why “the relations privileged the organizers will be preserved”. Moreover the chain another reason advances: “After 8 years on Disney Channel and being copied much, Zapping Zone was to evolve/move to remain in phase with its televiewers”.

• In January 2007 however, Extrasons, Tousskisor and Wazakid is withdrawn from the grid of the programs to leave room to new versions of those. Seul Willy continues to present a magazine on the chain.
