Zalaegerszeg

Zalaegerszeg is a city of the west of the Hungary located near the borders Austrian, Slovenien and Croatian. It is the capital of the department of Zala.

Geography

The city is located on the Zala, in the extreme west of the Plaine of Pannonia, halfway between the Lac Balaton and the Austrian border.

History

Zalaegerszeg was at the beginning of the 20th century the capital of the old comitat of Zala in the Royaume of Hungary.
