Zahra Kazemi

Zahra " Ziba" Kazemi (1948, Shiraz, Iran - July 11th 2003) was a Journaliste and to defer photo Canadian tortured to 54 years and assassinated following a violation of the human rights by government officials Iran IEN the July 11th 2003.

The body of photgraphe was buried in precipitation, in Shiraz, on July 22nd, 2003, against the will of his/her son, Stéphan Hachemi, of nationality Franco-Canadian and resident permanent in Canada. The mother of the journalist publicly admitted having been victim of pressures to authorize the burial in Iran. Since, the requests for exhumation and repatriation of the body in Canada remained vain. (source: Reporters without borders)

The ONG Reporters without borders joined a request of lawyers of the family of the victim so that a judge independent of the services of the prosecutor of Teheran Saïd Mortazavi, is named by the ayatollah Shahroudi, chief of judicial Power, in order to check the whole of the file and to carry out a reconstitution of the facts.

The Iranian government which announced, the July 28th 2004, which Zahra Kazemi had died of accidental manner .
