Zabol (Iran)

Zâbol (زابل) is a provincial town of the Sistan-o-Balouchestan in Iran, located at the border with the Pakistan and the Afghanistan.

Zabol is located near the Lake Hamun-e Helmand and the area is irrigated by the river Hirmand. The population of Zabol is in majority Persan ophone and Shiite.

The area of Zabol is famous for its “one hundred twenty day old wind” ( bād-e sad-o-bist-roz ), a strong wind and persistent which blows of north in the south in summer.

The university of Zabol is the largest university of the city.

Zabol also famous for its local hero, Rostam, is described by Ferdowsi in the Shah Nameh, one of most famous epic works Persian.
