Z 6100

Z 6100 constitute a series of motorized electric of suburbs of the SNCF.

Description

Z 6100 marked the landscape of the Northern suburbs since the Années 1960. Short but being able to circulate in multiple unit of three elements (that is to say nine cases), they were conceived to accompany the electrification by the Northern network at the end of the years 1960 and definitively replaced old the locomotive with vapor 141 TC in 1970.

Services

Delivered 1965 to 1970 in three under-series, Z 6100 are initially used on the Paris relation - Crépy-in-Valois and Paris - Creil before also serving Pontoise then Persan - Beaumont by Montsoult - Maffliers and Valmondois after the electrification of these radial completed in 1970. They circulated thereafter on Pontoise - Creil and Paris - Beauvais.

Of a comfort now exceeded, in particular as regards suspension, the last “p' gray tits” should not disappear before the arrival from the Nouvelle railcar transilien whose first elements are awaited for end 2009.
