Z 600

Description

Z 600 are electric motorized with metric gauge track used on the Ligne Saint-Gervais-Vallorcine. Their power supply is ensured by Conductor rail.

Eight, they were delivered in 1958. The majority of them are always in circulation.

In the beginning, this material was covered with one delivered red and cream. At the time of their passage in great revision of 1981 with 1985 to them was applied one delivered orange and gray, pointing out that of TGV. At the end of the Years 1990, preserved material Z 600 was repaints in red and white, in one delivered evoking that of the material Z 800.

During tests on easy profile, a railcar Z 600 reached the speed of 82 km/h. It was decided to authorize in service a speed of 70 km/h, which were brought back thereafter to 60 km/h.

Railcars Z 600, as well as the trailers ZR 20600, are equipped with attachments Scharfenberg.

Composition of the oars

In this generation of material, railcars Z 600 are supplemented by four towed cars, registered ZR 20601 with ZR 20604. In this way, it is possible to compose four oars, in which a trailer ZR 20600 is framed by two railcars Z 600. However, other configurations are practiced: Z 600 only, two Z 600, three Z 600 and one ZR 20600, and even three Z 600 and two ZR 20600.

Service

Z 600 circulate on the whole of the Ligne Saint-Gervais-Vallorcine, of the station of Saint-Gervais-the-Baths-the-Fayet, terminus of the network with normal way with the Châtelard-Border, in correspondence with the networks of the Martigny-Châtelard. In 1972, Z 602 was seriously damaged by a fire due to an overcurrent.

Starting from 1986, Z 600 circulate in adherence until Salvan on the network of the MC. To go beyond their is impossible because of toothed rack.

Current, the situation of railcars Z 600 is the following one:

  • Z 608 was erased on April 1st 1999;
  • Z 602 was erased the March 24th 2005 following a fire with the Clay crushers the February 18th 2002;
  • Z 607 is stopped since the October 11th 2005 following problems on the Bogie S;
  • the five other Z 600 are always in service. They circulate still regularly, in reinforcement of the material Z 800 and Z 850.

Z 600 should all be deadened from here at 2008. They will be replaced by oars Z 850 additional (to be delivered).
