Z 23000

Z 23000 are vehicles of CMP, called “ Z ”. They were ordered in several times, a first section in 1934, one second in 1937, a third in 1942, a fourth in June 1950. The commercial startup of this material proceeded, just like the deliveries, in several times, between November 1937 and December 1938 (for the first two series) on the recently modernized line of Seals (at the time). Z 23000 also played a part at the beginning of the era of the RER B. However, this rolling stock under the continuous 1500V, it was impossible to make it circulate on the rails of the SNCF, since the electrification is of 25 Kv, 50 Hz. It is on this occasion that Z 8100 (or MID 79 in denomination the RATP) were ordered. “Z” started to be reformed in 1984. But ms 61 sent on the RER has knew big problems of with their too strong use. Some MID 79 were detached towards the RER A. But the winter 1985 marked a return of Z 23000 on the RER B because of the many damages from MID the 79, and this during several winters.
