ZMC 1 railcar
ONCF wishes to set up a new service given rhythm between Rabat and Casablanca at the beginning of the year 1980, with points to 160 km/h. But it does not have the hardware requirement. An invitation to tender is thus launched in August 1981 in order to acquire the adequate material. Belgium has an long experience as regards 3000 volts: SNCB has just taken delivery of its new double railcars series 300 known as " break" , and in December 1981, the consortium Brugean the/ACEC completes the delivery of a series of 50 triple motorized oars, also in 3000 volts, with the company of the state railways of Sao Paulo (FEPASA) to the Brésil. It is quite naturally that ONCF turns to this manufacturer for the supply of his new material.
Design
The initial order carries on eight railcars, but to the difference of the " break" SNCB of which they take again esthetics, it acts of triple oars designed in preparation for the possible insertion of a fourth trailer, two triple oars being couplables enters they. Service

The delivery of the first batch is carried out December 1983 in February 1984. The ZMC are committed on the new service given rhythm known as " TNR" (fast trains shuttles), officially inaugurated on May 19th, 1984, and from which the business service begins on May 21st.
