ZAZ (ЗАЗ) is a mark of founded Ukrainian car in 1956. ZAZ means Usine of cars of Russian Zaporoje (: Zaporozhsky Avtomobilny Zavod), it is located at Zaporoje in Ukraine. This factory manufactured agricultural machinery before accommodating ZAZ.
The ZAZ were intended to motorize the Soviet people, but with the arrival of Lada on the market in 1966, the sales will know a fall, because at the time, people prefer the cars with a trunk.
In October 1962, ZAZ launches the 965A, with an engine of 900 Cm3 27 CV, maximum speed: 80 km/h. The production continued until 1969.

In 2002, Daimler Benz assembles the models Classe E & Mr. In 2003, ZAZ assembles Lada Samara. An agreement was concluded between ZAZ & Opel for the assembly from Opel Corsa, Astra and Vectra. ZAZ produces as Daewoo Sens, Lanos with engine ZAZ 1300, sold less expensive as Lanos.
The figures of production are not known with certainty, in particular oldest.
