Zărand
Zărand is a city of the Judeţ de Arad in Transylvania, Romania.
Attested since 1318, it was an important administrative center: initially territorial community Wallachian ( Ţara Zărandului , “Country of Zarand”), it gave its name to Comitat of the principality of Transylvania, then of the Hungary, whose chief town was Brad.
