Zéthos

In the Greek Mythology, Zéthos or Zéthus (in Greek old Ζήθος / Zếthos , in Latin Zethus ), wire of Zeus and Antiope, is the twin brother of Amphion. Both, on the order of their uncle Lycos, king of Thèbes, are abandoned children on the Mont Cithéron and collected by shepherds. Amphion becomes musician, and Zéthos deals with the cattle.

Zéthos continues Lycos which it kills, and becomes king de Thèbes in his place. He marries Thébé, which leaves its name to the city.

According to Homère, it has a son, Itylos, conceived with Édon. But this one kills it in an access of insanity.
