Yvon Gattaz
Yvon Gattaz is a French contractor, chair National council of French employers (CNPF) of 1981 1986.
Biography
It is Centralien.
After the victory of François Mitterrand, in 1981, the CNPF elects at its head Yvon Gattaz, consensual chairman of a SME, Radiall. Very quickly, the organization starts a “war of distinct” with the Socialist government in place. The battle begins on the question of the passage to the 39 hours, on flexibility of the Working time, on the Nationalization S confiscating the capital, on the Wealth tax and the law of amnesty. In 1982, Yvon Gattaz delivers with Michel Maury-Laribière a combat of several months for the fall of the employer costs.
Yvon Gattaz meets François Mitterrand and informs him of the aggravation of the owners: “The companies are bloodless, it should be stopped the bleedings that one forces to them to finance the social progress”. In June 1983, the CNPF obtains in Matignon a moratorium on the loads and the crest lowering of the Professional tax in exchange of the engagement of the companies to invest. In December 1984, after the failure of the interprofessional negotiation on the adaptation of the condition of uses, the CNPF adopts a strategy of waiting: it gives up dialoguing with the capacity in place until the legislative ones of 1986, which will see the victory of the opposition.
He is elected member of the Academy of Science morals and political in 1989. He founded Ethic, an employers' federation, as well as the Association of the patrimonial medium businesses (ASMEP). He is still president of Association Youth and Undertaken (AJE) which he founded in 1986 and which aims at bringing closer the young people to the world of the company.
