Yvon Bourges

Yvon Bourges , Politician French, was born the June 29th 1921 with Pau (auj. Yrénées-Atlantiques).

Graduate of the Faculty of Law of Rennes, it is titular of one training certificate to the occupation of lawyer. General governor of a.E.F starting from 1958, it then writes many articles, in particular " The Councils of a Colonist in his Successeurs" , in the newspaper " Roue" , independent body appearing in Mali in the years 1950-1960 (see the site on the abolition of slavery in Martinique and Guadeloupe).

President of the District council of Brittany (1986-1998). Elected official on March 21st, 1986 to replace Raymond Marcellin.

It is elected appointed gaullist (of UNR-UDT to RPR) of the Sixth district of Ille-et-Vilaine of 1962 to 1978,
then senator RPR of 1980 to 1998.

He is Secretary of State near the Prime Minister, in charge of the scientific research and of the atomic and space questions from February 23rd, 1965 to January 8th, 1966
then Secretary of State near the Prime Minister, in charge of the Information from January 8th, 1966 to April 1st, 1967 under Georges Pompidou,
then secretary of foreign affairs in the government of Maurice Couve of Murville from July 10th, 1968 to June 20th, 1969,
he preserves his functions under Jacques Chaban-Delmas from June 20th, 1969 to July 5th, 1972.

Minister

He is Minister Commercial and Craft industry in the government of Pierre Messmer (1) from July 5th, 1972 to March 28th, 1973.
He is Minister for Defense in the government of Jacques Chirac from January 31st, 1975 to August 25th, 1976
then in those of Raymond Barre from August 25th, 1976 to October 2nd, 1980, goes back to its resignation of the government after its election with the Sénat.
