Yvette Chassagne
Yvette Chassagne (born the March 28th 1922 with Bordeaux and deceased the September 4th 2007 with Narbonne) is a French senior official. She was the first woman préfète in France.
She is during the Second world war auxiliary war writer with the prefecture of Bordeaux, between 1943 and 1944, and is recruited in a network of the Résistance by Daniel Mayer. For this reason, in 1998, she will testify with the lawsuit to Maurice Papon. Its name is quoted among those of the people having warned Jewish families before raids.
In 1947, Yvette Chassagne is one of the first three women received with ÉNA. She leaves civil Administrateur to the ministry for the Armies. Then it joined the direction of the insurances to the ministry for finances, where it becomes specialist in technical collaboration with the young French-speaking States of Black Africa.
It is successively the first woman " under-directeur" with the Ministry for Finances, in 1979 first " to advise maître" with the Court of Auditors. Member of the Socialist party, it is named in July 1981 first woman préfète in France by the Minister of Interior Department Gaston Defferre, after the arrival with the Elysium of François Mitterrand. It becomes president of the Union of the insurances of Paris (UAP) in 1983, station which in 1987 Jean Dromer succeeds to him, then in 1989 delegated to the Road safety.
It becomes adviser of Gilbert Trigano, chairman of the Club the Mediterranean. She wrote a book on her experiment with the UAP, Fonctionnaire and owner, the reversed prejudices (Slats, 1988).
Always adherent Socialist, it is with his death at 85 years in 2007 municipal adviser of the list of opposition PS, PCF and Verts with Narbonne.
Distinctions
Yvette Chassagne is Commandeur of the Légion of honor and Grand officer of the National order of the Merit.
