Yves de Scépeaux is a Diplomate and French magistrate of the 15th century.

Origin

Wire of Yvon de Scépeaux and Guillemette de Montenay, which had 1424 with 1434 the great trusteeship of her husband.

Biography

He studied with the Université of Angers, where Garnier, one of its ancestors, had regent towards 1350. He was vice-chancellor in 1432 or 1434 and negotiated the annexation of three faculties of arts, theology and medicine to the Faculty of Law. To advise with the Parliament of Paris the March 9th 1438, then third president, the July 4th 1441, it was placed then by Charles VII near the dolphin with the title of chancellor of Dauphiné, assisted in this quality with the Conférences of Châlons in 1445 and chaired the States of Dauphine the Romans the January 23rd 1450.

It receives Nicolas V, for him and his wife, the privilege to be made exonerate reserved cases, September 30th 1447.

The December 9th 1450, it negotiated the marriage of the dolphin, future Louis XI with Charlotte of Savoy. It stuck definitively since to the Parliament of Paris, became the August 19th about it 1457 first president, and its personal merit made it call the Grand President .

The August 29th 1458, it was with the Lit of justice where was judged the duke of Alençon Jean II of Alençon, and the May 13rd 1460 pronounced in Grand' room the stop declaring the count d' Armagnac Jean V of criminal Armagnac of Lèse-majesté. He died the November 2nd 1461 without leaving children of Charlotte de Beauvau, dowager of Landivy and Mausson, who was buried in the vault that she had made build with the Augustins of Angers, in 1493.
