Biography
The father and the mother of Yves Tanguy are of Breton origin. He is born with the ministry for the Navy, Place of the Harmony in Paris, where his/her father, Adjudant - supervisor, has a company flat. He is sensitized with painting by one of his classmates, Pierre Matisse, wire of the painter Henri Matisse and future merchant of art to New York.Yves Tanguy adheres to the surrealist group in 1925. Its mineral landscapes, linear horizons, flexible cartilages, attractive being-objects, oneiric atmospheres where the unconscious one wants to be sovereign are appreciated by the poètes. André Breton will write in 1941: " The appearance of Tanguy in the neptunian light of clairvoyance retightens little by little the wire of the horizon which had broken. But it is with him a new horizon, that on which will order in-depth the either physical but mental landscape. (...) The strictly invented being-objects which populate its fabrics enjoy their own affinities which translate only happy manner - nonliteral manner - all that can be object of emotion in the univers." In 1938, with the Living room of Surindépendants, Tanguy the tables of the American artist Kay Sage discovers. It joined it in the United States the following year, settles in Woodbury, Connecticut and marries in 1940. In 1955, he dies suddenly of a hemorrhage cérébrale. In 1963, after having established the complete catalog of works of Tanguy, Kay Sage commits suicide by empoisonnement. The last wills of Yves Tanguy were that his ashes are dispersed out of bay of Douarnenez not far from Locronan, the village of origin of its family. His/her friend Pierre Matisse was his executor.
