Yves Jouffa
Yves Jouffa , born in 1920 and deceased in 1999, is militant Human rights, resistant, lawyer engaged in policy.
Born in 1920, Yves Jouffa adheres to 16 years with the socialist Jeunesses and becomes, two years afterwards, one of the leaders of the socialist Students of Paris.
He is mobilized in June 1940, demobilized affected in August then with the building sites of youth, created by the Vichy government. Decree on August 20th, 1941 by French police officers at the time of the one of the first Raid S of Jewish S operated in Paris, it is imprisoned with the Camp of Drancy until September 14th, 1942. Refractory with STO, it passes in clandestinity, engages in FFI and takes share with the engagements for the release of Normandy.
As of the end of the war, it takes again its militant activities and becomes, in 1957, one of the founders of the Union of the socialist left (UGS) then Socialist party unified (PSU) in 1960, qu ' it leaves on September 25th, 1967 to create, with others, the Union of the groups and clubs socialist (UGCS).
Parallel to its political activities, it continues its career of lawyer and pleads in front of the courts Algérie NS. Political lawyer, it defends in particular the members of the Algerian National movement (MNA). Specialist in the right of construction, he is also Member of the Commission of the penal procedure and the council about lawyers at the bar of Paris.
Member then vice-president of the League of the human rights, he becomes the president in 1984 about it. Under its crook, the League begins in particular in favor of the right to vote, with the local elections, of the nonCommunity foreign residents. In 1988, he becomes expert of the International federation of the human rights, member of the National advisory commission of the human rights near the Prime Minister and vice-president of Droit and democracy .
In addition to these various activities, Yves Jouffa publishes many articles and collaborates in several reviews of which Hommes and freedom . He was one of the witnesses of the charge at the time of the lawsuits of Klaus Barbie and Maurice Papon, in the form of recording of the Barbie lawsuit for the second lawsuit, Yves Jouffa being then seriously sick.
He dies in 1999 and is buried with the Cimetière of Montparnasse.
