Yves Guillemot
Born towards 1960, Yves Guillemot is the cofounder of Ubisoft with his/her brothers Claude, Michel, Gerard and Christian. He is also the current chairman.
The Breton phratry starts by founding Guillemot Informatique in their town of origin, Carentoir in the Morbihan. When the Commodore arrive on the market, they launch out in the trade of imported plays and reach an important size very quickly. The Guillemot brothers found then Guillemot Corporation, Ubisoft, Ludiwap; then Gameloft and Guillemot Ventures. In order to avoid the conflicts, they shared the direction of the companies. Thus, Claude is the chairman of Guillemot Corporation, Michel de Ludiwap, Gerard de Gameloft, Yves d' Ubisoft and Christian de Guillemot Venture].
Very quickly, Yves Guillemot makes assemble Ubisoft which quickly becomes the French number one and among the largest editors in the world. The passion of Yves Guillemot is not the direction but the prospection this is why it leaves the direction of Ubisoft France to Alain Core to devote itself to international and the search of new markets.
Three of the companies are quoted on the stock exchange, Ubisoft, Guillemot and Gameloft.
Chronology
- 1984, Yves Guillemot founds Guillemot Informatique with his/her five brothers.

- 1986, Ubisoft is created.
