Yves Foll
Yves Foll , French politician, born the February 7th 1912 with Pleyben (Finistere), deceased on September 1st 1998 with Saint-Brieuc (Coasts of Armor).
Biography
It is resulting from a family of blacksmiths and marshal-shoeing buttresses of the Monts of Arrée. Young orphan of father, it enters to the teacher training school teachers of Quimper (Finistere), then integrates the National university of Technical education (ENSET, become ENS Cachan). He is named mathematics professor with the Curie college of Saint-Brieuc where he will occupy then the post of critic.Political militant antifascist as of the years 1930, it is made prisoner in 1940. Refusing the Algerian policy of SFIO, it joined, in 1960, the Socialist party Unified and Michel Rocard. City council man of Saint-Brieuc in 1962 in the team of Antoine Mazier, it will succeed to him in its armchair of mayor of 1965 to 1983. General adviser of 1970 to 1982, it will twice be elected with the delegation in 1967 and 1973.
Man of convictions, impassioned debattor, lawyer of the Franco-German bringing together, member of the Regional office of study and socialist information (BREIS) to with dimensions in particular of Charles Josselin, Louis Pensec, Francis the Corn, Edmond Herve. Committed mayor (Strike of the French Joint, 1972), it will work actively for his city (new districts, pedestrian plate, social and cultural equipment) by equipping it in particular with a modern hospital which bears its name today.
In 1982 it receives the Légion of honor hands of Michel Rocard.
In 1983, the 70 years age, it gives up all its public mandates. It will be devoted from now on to its favorite pastime, fishing in bay of Bréhec (Plouha), not without always impassioning itself into private for the policy.
Yves Foll and Jeanne Heydon his wife, teacher, had four children.
