Yves Floc\' H

Oldest son of farmers of Plouguerneau in Finistere North, Yves Floc' H (1906 - 1990), spoke only the Breton up to six years. A little later, its unquestionable gifts for the drawing point out it by the vicar of the parish, the abbot Yann-Vari Perrot, the founder of the Bleun-Brug. It paints decorations for the theater company of patronage before following an artistic formation to Lesneven, with Rennes, the courses of the evening of the Art schools, then with Paris.

Receipt with the professorship of drawing in 1933, it teaches with Saint-Dié. After the mobilization and the captivity in Germany, it takes again its courses with Lorient then with Dinan, in Coast-with Armor. It will not leave any more Dinan, ensuring the courses of drawing to the College of boys then the College of Girls, until her retirement in 1971.

Impressionist painter, raises Desired-Lucas Louis-Marie, he likes to go “on the ground” to fix the light and the landscapes. In Brittany, Dinan and its surroundings, Douarnenez and the Finistere… But also at the time of its more remote escapades towards the sun: the mountain, the Riviera, the Italy, the Spain…

It left the memory of a remarkable professor there, of an enthusiastic organizer, eveillor of artistic curiosity, an exemplary representative of the service assumed with a total generosity. The life and the career of Yves Floc' H reflect the same essential unit in the permanent influence of Brittany and the tough perseverance of a vocation.

Biography

1914 : Departure of the father to the war.
1918 : Return of the father, wounded and gauze with Verdun. Y.F. is war orphan.
1920: After the certificate of studies, inscription during draftsmanship of the Universal School. “I already liked to draw the vaults, the fountains and the old houses of the area”.
1922 : Y.F becomes boy of presbytery to the cure of Plouguemeau where the Abbot Yann-Vari Perrot, vicar, have just created patronage Paotred Mikael year Nobletz First part Ar it houmoul has dec' H (the clouds flee, adapted by Roparz Hemon). Participation in the decoration of this part, realized by Mr. Lintanf, painter morlaisien.
1926 : The Perrot abbot, having noticed the artistic provisions of Y.F., offers to him the lessons of Mr. Julien, professor with the college of Lesneven.
1927 : Military service in Rennes. Course of the evening at the School of the Art schools.
1928 : Obtaining a purse of State.
1930 : Course with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of decorative Arts of Paris. Course of Lucien Simon (not of bonds with Emile Simon) in the Art schools. During these studies, Y.F will bind friendship with the painters Chochon (Rennes), Lorin (Locronan) and the sculptor the Picardy one (Tréguier). Death of the grandfather to which Y.F was very attached, holding of him, by oral tradition, the past of Plouguerneau.
1931 : Realization of a decoration (interior Breton) for a new play. Illustration for Feiz ha Breiz (Faith and Brittany).
1932 : Receipt in good place with the professorship of drawing.
1933 : Frescos with the presbytery of Scrignac (29): the vault of rear Toul Groaz, Coat-Keo in ruins and the Fountain of Baranton. Meet Herry Caouissin, one of the future founders of Brittia-Films. With the Cueff Bard, visit of Ker Botrel to Bridge-Swallow-hole. Start the realization of decorations, painted with oil, in the paternal house.
1934 : Nomination of Yves Floc' H as professor of drawing to the college of Saint-Dié (the Vosges).
1935 : During the Bleun-Brug of Pleyben, Y.F becomes acquainted with Marguerite Villard, girl of the poet and professor Rene Villard.
1936 : Draw a banner of Notre-Dame de Coat-Keo. Meet Mathurin Méheut and of Yvonne Jean-Haffen with Holy-Anne-the-Fen.
1937 : First voyage in Italy from which there will remain very impressed.
1938 : July 23rd with Saint-Laurent-of-the-Sea (22), marriage of Yves Floc' H with Marguerite Villard, celebrated by the Perrot abbot. From this union will be born: Annaïck in 1939, François in 1943, Jobig in 1947 and Jean-Marie in 1952.
1939: Mobilization on September 2nd. Funny of war… then is made prisoner with Dunkirk before being sent to stalag IV B.
1940: Death of his/her father-in-law, Rene Villard, one of the friends of max Jacob. Died with the face of his/her friend of childhood Jobig Abguillerm. Y.F., wounded, is repatriated in Christmas.
1941 : Stay with the military hospital of Saint-Brieuc. Nomination with Lorient then arrived at Dinan at the College, street of Léhon.
1942 : Place initially with 9 rue Beaumanoir. Joined the street François-Luzel, near, where Roger Vercel resides.
1943 : Acquisition of a work of Y.F by the Museum of Saint-Brieuc. Take part, with Misters Yves Blanchot, Charles Delort, Louis Decroux and Rene Poirier, with the actions of the Reception center of the Prisoners of war of Dinan located street of Rouairies. “It received the prisoner, it could - of a word, a gesture - make forget the captivity! ” Mr. R. Poirier pays. Return to the theater with the awaited Hour , given to the profit of the prisoners. Kenavo, aotrou Perrot Karet (Goodbye, dear Perrot abbot): December 12th, died of the Abbot Yann-Vari Perrot.
1945 : Fact the knowledge of the sculptor dinannais Paul Durand (alias Armel Of).
1946 : First exposure of works of the painter to his residence. With Jean Urvoy, creates the decoration of Eight men behind the barbed wires , part of the abbot Guy Page who was played 32 times. Meet Louis-Marie Desired-Lucas and Xavier de Langlais.
1947 : Y.F brings its artistic contest to the festivals of the centenary of Auguste Pavia, explorer of the French Indo-China.
1948 : Turning of the film Duguesclin , according to the work of Roger Vercel. Y.F takes part in the decorations of the festival which will be organized in the old city. With Claude Marin, visit with the painters Louis-Marie Desired-Lucas and Marie Réol. Creation of the Company Photo-cinema of Dinan with Mr. Jéhan, thus opening a score of businesss year.
1949 : This year sees the weekly meeting, Monday, of a group of painters, street Kitchener in the workshop of Dr. Claudeville. (P. Rochereau, C. of Saint-Gilles and some others). Decoration for a part of H. Monnier, Inattendu.Dans living rooms of the Sub-prefecture, Yves handing-over Floc' H of the chivalric insignia in the Order of the Million of Elephants and the White Parasol by Their Royal Highnesses of the Laos.
1950 : As from this year, Y.F travelled much, seeking sources of inspiration: Italy (Rome, Sitted and Florence), the Savoy, Brittany, the Balearic Islands, the Andalusia, the Greece, the Turkey… bringing back each time of the sketches and a different pallet.
1951 : More regular meetings with the painter Henriette Desportes.
1952 : During 15 years, Y.F ensures the realization of the crib of Christmas the church Saint-Malo.
1953 : Realization, for the Corpus Christi, of one Resting place at the Western entry of the Large-Ditches.
1955 : Realization, with the pupils, of frescos for the decoration of the refectory and the dormitories of the College of Young girls of Dinan.
1957 : Knight in the order of the academic Palms.
1958 : Travel through France with a caravan manufactured of its hands; each stage sees the realization of a pochade or a composition: Solesmes, Vouvray, Amboise, Mills, Orange, Avignon, Chin, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Arles, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Royan…
1959: Nomination with the college of young girls, street Broussais in Dinan.
1963 : Installation of his/her Adrienne sister and her brother-in-law, Joseph Jouffe, in Kervallon, Saint-Méloir-of-Wood (22). Y.F will find there, in addition to the family affection, of the multiple subjects of inspiration in all seasons, an haven of peace and confidences. Death of his/her mother, Mamm goz.
1964 : Death of his/her father, Tad coz. Strong activity of the company Photo-cinema. Realization of photographic assemblies: Chateaubriant and Brittany, Dinan the night, " Dinan, town of Art" inspired by the work of the historian Mathurin Monier. Purchase of a work (Pouldavid-Douarnenez) by the Case
1965: Large Troménie with Locronan.
1966 : Return in France of his/her brother Francois, missionary in Africa during 22 years.
1971 : Y.F takes its retirement after 30 years of artistic teaching in Dinan.
1977 : The family and the neighbors celebrate the bicentenary of the house of the street of Bignon. Travel in Egypt of which he had so often taught the remote history and the culture. Realization of the exposure max Jacob and Brittany with the public library, the manor of Ferron. Y.F takes part in the restoration of the company of the friends of the museum and the library of the town of Dinan of which he is member of the Board of directors until his death.
1981 : Y.F opens its diary by these words: " I would like to always be a man généreux". Gathering of all the family Floc' H in Plouguerneau.
1983 : Travel to Germany with the former prisoners of war, with Mulberg.
1986 : Death of his/her friend Ronan Caerleon and of his/her mother-in-law, Jeanne Villard, in her 102e year.
1988 : Y.F obtains the Grand Prix of painting of the Town of Dinan.
1990 : August 12th, in Douarnenez, a fatal accident stops this life filled well. Yves Floc' H rests with the cemetery of Dinan.

2005 : Exposure Yves Floc' H in his country , in Lesneven (29 NR), all July. Nice success,… some 1650 visitors, buildings and estivants.
2005 : In its N° 183 of December, the review the Fish-wagon publishes an article of Rene Villard, going back to 1930 but ever published, illustrated of a drawing of Yves Floc' H, his future son-in-law: All Saints' day of perished at sea.
