Yves Delaporte

Yves Delaporte , ethnologist French. Born on December 13rd, 1944 with Villemomble Seine-Saint-Denis, it is Research director at CNRS, member of the Laboratory of Urban Anthropology LAU CNRS UPR34. Its work concerned on the Lapps, the anthropology of clothing, then on the deaf persons and the languages of the signs. Its book " the deaf persons it is like ça" constitute the first ethnographic description of the world of the deaf persons. By collecting the account which a carpenter bressan delivered to him in language signs, it inserted the deaf-mute ones in the prestigious collection " Humaine" ground;. With much of others, he asserts the right of the deaf children to a teaching in their language and shows himself very hostile with the implants cochléaires. Its etymological work opened a new scientific field: the study of the lexicons of the signed languages and their history.

Yves Delaporte is doctor of state in ethnology.
