The Yves challenge of the Manor is a competition of Rugby to XV between clubs French created the September 21st 1931, by 7 clubs of elite then still related to the FR whereas the dissidence of UFRA beat full sound.

This challenge bears the name of Yves of the Manor, former French international rugby player, died in an accident of Avion in January 1928, at 23 years.

The clubs are invited to dispute this challenge by the Racing club of France which created the test, and was helped in that primarily by 2 other clubs of the 1st division " loyalistes" , the CA Bègles and the ACE Montferrand.

Become Yves Coupe de France of the Manor at the time of the season 1996-1997, this trophy (known as then Trophy Of-Manor ) is then directly managed by the French federation of Rugby. The clubs engaged out of Cuts of Europe enter from now on the competition as from sixteenth of finale.

The challenge became then the " Cross of Ligue" in 2001, then the " Challenge South-Radio" in 2003.

The raison d'être of this challenge was to want to propose a play more released of the rough research of the victory which prevailed in championship, where the matches were often enlisaient in interminable trench warfares (the balloon seldom left the feet of the fronts, the three-quarter-wing finishing sometimes matches without having touched only one balloon). Particular rules were laid down in this direction, in particular to prohibit the kick placed for the goals (penalties or transformations), which reduces the idle periods. In addition to the search for a pleasant play, the Fair-play was also a proposed element.

Since 2004, this annual tournament, labellized by the F.F.R., is opened at the schools of Rugby for the tiny ones. It is " la" reference of the meetings of young people, under the name of National Tournament of the Schools of Rugby .

Prize list

With leaving the war, it reappears of its ashes after 13 years of absence, to replace the Coupe de France itself, whose system by direct elimination then has too many violent consequences on the type of produced play.

The Challenge of the Manor is transformed into Coupe de France

In 2000-2001 the Coupe de France becomes Coupe of the League

The Cut of the League becomes the South-Radio Challenge:
