Yves Bur is a French Politician, doctor of dental surgery, born the March 10th 1951 with Strasbourg (the Low-Rhine). He is appointed of the 4 district of the the Low-Rhine like mayor of Lingolsheim since 1995. Former member of the UDF, it currently forms part of the UMP.

Biography

Born the March 10th 1951 with Strasbourg, Yves Bur obtains a Doctorate in odontology in 1975 with the Faculty of Dental surgery of Strasbourg. He exerts as a liberal dental surgeon with Lingolsheim of 1976 with 2002. Besides he will become Membre of the departmental Council about the dental surgeons in 1988. Engaged in the professional union action within the Union of the Young Dental surgeons (UJCD) of which it integrates the National office, Yves Bur leans very quickly on the future prospects of her profession by defending in particular at that time an economic approach of the professional environment.

Beyond the interest which it carries to its trade, the expert decides to imply himself in the public life. This is why, in 1983, it enters to the Municipal council of Lingolsheim, city Alsatian of 17.000 inhabitants, where it occupies the function of assistant of the Maire, in charge of community life. In 1989, Yves Bur is re-elected at the sides of the mayor of Lingolsheim and is seen entrusting the policy of the city and the urban renovation.

President of the group Friendship Germany France, bringing together 94 deputies, it animates, with his German counterpart of the Bundestag, the programmes of exchanges of deputies between the two countries.

The year 2004 constitutes a big step in the political commitment and public of Yves Bur. May 5th 2004 it is elected with the Vice-presidency of the National Assembly with the responsibility for the delegation for the Office in charge of the groups with studies. In parallel, it joined the committee of supply in order to look further into its work on the reform of the organization and the financing of the Social security. In June 2005, it is re-elected vice-president of the assembly with a new responsibility: international relations.

In March 2007, following the resignation of Jean-Louis Debré of the presidency of the National Assembly, Yves Bur is had a presentiment of like one of the possible futures presidents. However, it is Patrick Ollier which will be elected.

Being attached to the center family of thought, if Yves Bur were registered in 1992 with the CDS, he is a partisan of the union of the right-hand side. For this reason, it takes an active part in the movement of the refondateurs and joined UMP as of its constitution, obvious result of its engagement in favor of the UEM in 2001. The June 10th 2007, it is re-elected appointed by 57% of the voices to the first turn.

Its action

Specialist in the public health, Yves Bur presented on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 the private bill aiming at prohibiting to smoke in the public places and the work places to protect the employees against the dangers from passive smoking.

Several flagship measures in the field of health are also due for him, in particular:

  • removal of the vending machines in the schools to fight against the practices of nibbling and childhood obesity

  • increase in the tax on the alcopops in order to fight against the alcoholism of the young teenagers
  • addition of the photograph of ensured on the Vital card II to fight against the frauds with the Social security

Lastly, Yves Bur is also at the origin of the tax on the heavy trucks known as " Bur" who will be applied in 2007, on an experimental basis in Alsace for five years in order to fight against the carryforward to the Alsatian roads of the consecutive traffic of heavy trucks to the LKW-MAUT, a similar tax applied in Germany.
