Yves Brunier

Yves Brunier is a marionnettist, author and actor French.

One owes him in particular the character of Casimir, the nice dinosaur.

Biography

It follows initially artistic studies to the National school of the applied arts, and is interested painting parallel to.

Of 1961 with 1963, it studies at the National center of Dramatic art of the street Blanche, then of 1964 with 1965 at the University of the Theater of the Nations.

Its meeting with the marionnettist Philippe Genty is determining. Together, they carry out a round the world tour under the patronage of UNESCO, bringing back a single documentation on the puppets of the whole world. A series TV, Marionnettes of the world (32 episodes of 5 mn) is carried out and diffused on FR3. It assembles then a puppet show which is success in several countries.

In 1974, it is seen proposing by Christophe Izard, new director of the programs for the youth of ORTF, to create a nice monster : it will be Casimir, which will occupy the antenna until in 1982 in the emission the Island with the children .

It connects creations, as much for television (Brok and Chnok, Bébête show…) that for the companies (LCL, Esso, Nestlé) or various events (Football world cup…)
