Yvan Loubier

Yvan Loubier , B.A., M.A. (April 10th 1959 with Montreal -) is a economist and Politician Québécois, and one of the founding members of the Québécois Bloc. It is Député with the House of Commons of Canada, representing the district of Saint-Hyacinthe-Bagot under the banner of the Québécois Bloc since the election of 1993.

Before being elected, it is consulting in economic policy and international business. In 1990 it helps to found the Québécois Block; he writes proclamation of the party and collaborates in the development of the electoral program of the party for all the elections which the Block disputed until now. He is currently spokesperson of the Block as regards Finances, a station which he almost occupied without interruption since his first election. At this station, he predicts the budgetary surpluses of the federal government with much more precision than the civils servant of the government: its margin of error seldom exceeds 5%, while the margin of error of the ministry for Finances was often about 100% to 250%. At a meeting of the committee of finances, it offers a computer to the Minister for Finance of the time, Ralph Goodale, to help it with better doing its work.

Because of the fight which it led to the organized crime in its district, it received death threats on behalf of the bands of motorcyclists who devoted themselves to the drug trafficking, it obliging to place itself, him and its family, under the protection of police officers.

The September 8th 2006, Loubier announces that he would not be candidate with the re-election at the time of the next general election. It also indicated that it would be ready to leave its front seat the elections if it receives an offer of employment. Although interested by a jump in provincial policy to sit at the National Assembly of Quebec, it seemed to have given up this idea because its district was not free. However, in February it made the decision to present for the Québécois Parti in another district; he will be thus candidate with the Québécois general election of 2007 in the district of Fall-of-the-Boiler.
