Yvan Koenig

Yvan Kœnig is a Egyptologist French working in particular on the Mythologie and the Magie in the ancient Egypt.

Yvan Kœnig is doctor in Egyptology, former boarder of the French Institut of oriental archeology (IFAO) of the Cairo, in charge of research to the National center of the scientific research (CNRS/UMR 8152 - State, religion and company in old Egypt and in Nubie) and member of the International association of the Egyptologists (IAE).

He was professor of néo-Egyptian at the School of the languages and civilizations of the old East (ELCOA). He teaches the hieratic one with the practical École of the high studies (4th section).

Specialist in the deciphering of the papyri, the ostraca and the Egyptian magic, it took part in missions in Egypt and Europe.

Publications

Yvan Kœnig is the author of many Egyptological articles for the Encyclopédie Universalis, on gods (Amon, Hathor, Isis, etc), on theology (triad thebaine, theology héliopolitaine) and on geography (Memphis, Tanis, etc).
