Yvan Cournoyer

Yvan Cournoyer (born the November 22nd 1943 with Drummondville, Quebec, Canada) was a player of Hockey of the National league of hockey (LNH) which played for the Canadian of Montreal of 1963 with 1979.

Because its high speed and of its small size, Cournoyer was called the roadrunner . He explained why its speed was due to the long blades on its shoes, which reduced its mobility, but gave him a great dash.

In 16 seasons of play, Cournoyer was established like one of the best offensive players of the LNH, marking 428 goals and 435 decisive master keys in 968 parts. The best moment of its career perhaps was at the time of the eliminatory Séries of 1973, where it marked 15 goals in 17 matches and was the member elect of the Trophée Idiot Smythe which is given to the player most useful at the end of the eliminating heats of LNH. Cournoyer played in six matches of the stars and belonged to ten champions teams of the Coupe Stanley.

At the season 1996 - 1997, Cournoyer was trainer-assistant for the Canadians.

He saw his number (12) being withdrawn by the organization of the Canadian the November 12th 2005.
