Yuzuru Tominaga
Yuzuru Tominaga (富永譲), is a Japanese architect
Born with Taipei (Taiwan) in 1943, Tominaga studies architecture with the Université of Tokyo from which it is graduate in 1967. After having worked (like Toyo Ito) for the “metabolist” Kiyonori Kikutake, it creates in 1972 its workshop of architecture (Yuzuru Tominaga + form system institute), that it directs while teaching in several universities.
Through its projects, houses at the large recent buildings, he unceasingly seeks to make evolve/move the “pure prism” corbuséen, often white and independent of the structure, in accordance with his own released architectural poetry of the esthetics of the era of the machine. By doing this, Tominaga succeeds in fulfilling the concrete requirements of our companies, without to give up the dynamic play of volumes assembled in a space-time harmony on a human scale. Hirata Town Center (2000-2002) is without any doubt the example more completed. One also owes him two important books (in Japanese) on Le Corbusier.
