Devare, specialist in India, notice that if its history of the dynasty of Bahmani is very approximate, that of Adilshahi are rather exact, exhaustive, and contain the information rich and varied on Ali I and Ibrahim II .
The work of Rafi is less known than that of the historian Firishta, author of the Nawras- nama , also known under the name of Gulshan-i Ibrahim . Rafi contradicts a legend hawked by Firishta on the origins of the dynasty of Adil Shahi. According to him, Yusuf Adil Shah was the son supposed of Murad II, Othoman sultan and Moslem caliph, which one of its sons succeeded, Mehmed II. After its accession with the throne, new the Sultan would have ordered the execution by Strangulation of all his/her brothers, including Yusuf. The mother of this one succeeds in saving it by replacing it by a slave; She arranged herself then to make pass Yusuf in Perse. Yusuf ends up returning in India, entered to the service of the sovereign Bahmani of the Deccan, and cut a choice place at the court of Mahmud II.
